He paid the price, and I got off scott free! That is the message of the cross. In the final message of the series, Famous Last Words, we look at the phrase, “It is Finished!” This isn’t a cry of relief but a cry of victory! “I am thirsty” are among the most common of phrases. When Jesus spoke those words found in John 19:28, we learn a profound truth: He thirsted, that I might never thirst again! Doug shares this fourth message from our series, “Famous Last Words.” If you have a longing in your heart, only Jesus can satisfy!

Mary stood at the cross of Jesus. For a mother to witness the brutal execution of her son would be horrible. What is amazing in this interaction is the response of Jesus to this burden in Mary’s life. When Jesus saw his Mother, he provided for her needs.
When we see people, do we extend the compassion of Jesus? Until we see people through the eyes of Jesus, we will never extend the compassion they need. On March 22, 2009, Doug continues our series, Famous Last Words. Our text was John 19:25-27, as we witnessed the interaction between Jesus, John, and Mary.

Doug continues the series, “Famous Last Words,” with the most illogical concept of all time. That even the worst of humanity is welcomed into heaven who turn to Jesus in humility and faith. Our second phrase comes from Luke 23:43, “today you will be with me in Paradise.” A thief cries out for mercy and receives the grace of God. Are you too bad to be welcomed by Jesus? You need to hear this message.

We started a new series on March 8 2009. The message Doug shared started our look at the final words of Jesus while He was hanging on the cross. “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Wow, it is difficult for me to imagine the strength for those words to come from the mouth of Jesus. And yet he spoke those words to me. Thank you Lord! Read Luke 23:20-37 to get the context.
