David - Messed Up - 08302009

We continue our study in the life of the “Heart” champion, King David.  This week we come to this biggest messup of his life.  It was a fall that lasted over a year and involved all kinds of stupid stuff.  A little bit like some of us.  The passage is 2 Samuel 11-12, and Doug shared important insight to help us deal with temptation in our lives.  This was shared on August 30, 2009, at Wildwood Christian Church, as a part of the series, “David: Heart of a Champion.”

A Word of Humanness - 03292009

“I am thirsty” are among the most common of phrases.  When Jesus spoke those words found in John 19:28, we learn a profound truth: He thirsted, that I might never thirst again!  Doug shares this fourth message from our series, “Famous Last Words.”  If you have a longing in your heart, only Jesus can satisfy!

This message was shared on March 29, 2009 at Wildwood Christian Church.

A Word of Grace - 03152009

Doug continues the series, “Famous Last Words,” with the most illogical concept of all time.  That even the worst of humanity is welcomed into heaven who turn to Jesus in humility and faith.  Our second phrase comes from Luke 23:43, “today you will be with me in Paradise.”  A thief cries out for mercy and receives the grace of God.  Are you too bad to be welcomed by Jesus?  You need to hear this message.

A Word of Forgiveness - 03082009

We started a new series on March 8 2009.  The message Doug shared started our look at the final words of Jesus while He was hanging on the cross.  “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”  Wow, it is difficult for me to imagine the strength for those words to come from the mouth of Jesus.  And yet he spoke those words to me.  Thank you Lord!  Read Luke 23:20-37 to get the context.

WWJH? - Joy Killing 02/15/2009

We finish our series, “What Would Jesus Hate?” with a message that is critical to remember.  When we allow a legalistic, self-righteous attitude to live, the joy of worship is squelched.  Doug looks at Mark 3:1-6, and the anger at Jesus when He encounters this attitude.
