If you are looking for significant relationships, then Jesus has a lot to teach you. Doug started a new series this week, "Won't You Be My Neighbor." We are looking at some encounters Jesus had with groups of friends. Our first encounter is from Mark 2:1-12, as Jesus meets the need of a paralytic because of his friends.

We have all been given labels or nicknames through the years. What if your label is a negative one ... that you deserve? John Mark's story is found in Acts 13 and 15, and he was labeled a "deserter," by the Apostle Paul. Yet through the encouragement of Barnabas, he was given a second chance. Ultimately his label was changed from "deserter" to "faithful worker."
Do you need a label change? Do you need to offer someone a second chance? Listen as Doug shares this message. This is the final message in the series, "Gracenomics" shared at Wildwood Christian Church on April 30, 2012.

If you have ever wished for a second chance, then this message about Peter is for you. If you struggle with guilt, shame, and a past, then this story is one you will relate to. Peter failed Jesus when he was needed the most. Yet, this story from John 21 is one we all need to hear and take to heart. Jesus extended grace to Peter, and to all of mankind. Grace takes the unforgivable and makes it forgivable!

Sometime the simplest story has the greatest impact. When Jesus concluded the Sermon on the Mount, he shared a simple story about two builders. Matthew 7:24-27 is the text for the story, as well as the basis for a test He reveals. How do I know if I am "hearing" Jesus or if I am just "listening?" In this message, Doug shares three principles every follow of Jesus needs to consider.

We continue our series, "Buts of the Bible," with Matthew 5:49-42, as Jesus challenges the loophole of "eye for eye." Doug shares the need we have of letting God handle revenge and retaliation. We learn about choosing the third way ... the Jesus way. This will lead people to ask the question, "why would you react in this fashion?"
